stuff in the background) shaped images without post processing.  The answer was by using a cut out shape close to the lens.  Commercially they sell a Bokeh Master's Kit, but it's simple enough to It needs a counter weight and a way to mount the lav receivers, but it's fully functional. Simple pic is below. My follow focus gears arrived today, so now I'm just waiting for the cartridge bearings so I can upgrade the follow focus. The luxury of shooting stills in RAW is something I found critical very soon after buying the 40D. The video codec on the 5D, however, is kind of like shooting in JPEG.
